Duration and schedule of water rescue courses

Our water rescue courses last 63 didactic hours, which fully meets the requirements of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. There are two formulas to choose from: weekend or intensive.   • Rules and regulations: discussion of the Law on Safety of Persons in Water Areas, Regulation of the Ministry of the Interior, ways of marking and securing water areas, the minimum number of lifeguards, and qualifications useful in lifeguarding.
  • Pool training: as part of the water rescue courses, we implement rescue jumps, rescue style with the head above water, towing the injured person at a distance of 150 m - all ways, diving to extract objects, and exercises with a dartboard, rescue wheel and other rescue equipment.
  • Open water exercises: In water rescue courses, we practice endurance swimming, towing in wave conditions using various techniques, swimming up the stern to the berth, maneuvering the boat and evacuating the injured person to shore.
  • Operation of communications equipment and procedures: The training includes the operation of a lifebelt, plank, pamel and other rescue equipment, as well as practice in calling emergency services in accordance with current procedures.
  • Sample exam: simulation of a full theoretical test and six practical tasks, with analysis of performance and individual feedback before the actual state exam.

Final exam and certification after our courses

The state exam to become a water lifeguard consists of. 30 question test and
6 practical tasks:

  1. 400 m freestyle ≤ 8 min.
  2. 25 m underwater with extraction of 2 objects.
  3. 50 m rescue style ≤ 55 s (head above the surface).
  4. Towing a drowning person 150 m - without a break.
  5. Rescue boat or kayak 75 m × 2 - time ≤ 2 min 40 s.
  6. Simulated rescue + CPR & position for KPP.

The official Certificate is issued immediately after the exam - according to the model
Journal of Laws. 2012 item 747. This allows you to start work even the next day. Water rescue courses also open the door to specialization

FAQ - the most common questions about water rescue courses.

After passing the state exam, you will receive an official certificate of a lifeguard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration, entitling you to independent paid work at swimming pools, bathing beaches and spa hotels throughout Poland.

The entire cycle is 63 teaching hours - delivered in one intensive week or as weekend classes.

The price of the Professional Water Lifeguard Course in Poland is as follows. 1900 zloty. The fee includes e-learning materials, access to the „Aquarius” swimming pool and Lake Solina, professional lifeguard equipment (kayaks, darts, wheels, boards, vests), instruction by lifeguard instructors and paramedics, and the MSWiA state exam.

The certificate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is unlimited, but the KPP certificate must be renewed every 3 years. To stay in shape and keep your knowledge up to date, we recommend that you swim regularly and refresh your knowledge.

No - the KPP module (10 h) is a separate part of the training. After passing it, you receive a separate KPP certificate, required by many employers of bathing and swimming pools. We maintain enrollment, also for the KPP course.

The participant must be 18 years of age on the day of the exam, be able to swim 400m freestyle in no more than 10 minutes, and have basic physical mobility.

The exam consists of a theoretical test and six practical tasks including rescue jumping, towing a casualty, operating rescue equipment and simulated rescue operations. After passing the exam, we issue the certificate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the spot.

In accordance with current regulations, participants water rescue courses They do not need to have a medical certificate or a sanitary book to work as a water lifeguard after completing training.

Registration takes place online at the water rescue courses page or by phone at 733 156 130. Seating is limited to 12 participants per edition - early booking is encouraged.

A water rescuer is a person who has completed water rescue courses in accordance with the Decree of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration and on the basis of the state certificate obtains the right to independent paid lifeguard service. A WOPR lifeguard, on the other hand, is a member of the association, but does not have formal professional credentials - in order to work as a lifeguard, he must also complete a water rescue courses.
