Discrete Sub-Hull Drive for Sailboats - Maximum Performance, Zero Delay

Epropulsion Pod Drive EVO: Quiet Power Hidden Under the Hull

When every fraction of a knot counts and aesthetics and deck space are a priority, a traditional outboard engine is a compromise. Epropulsion Pod Drive EVO is a revolutionary solution for sailors and owners of small displacement vessels. This compact, maintenance-free motor is mounted directly under the hull, eliminating hydrodynamic drag and noise. Offering power from 3 to 10 hp and a standard hydrogeneration function, the Pod Drive EVO is an ideal, discreet main or auxiliary drive that saves valuable cabin and deck space.

Minimalism and Efficiency - Meet the Advantages of Stationary Drive

Epropulsion Pod Drive EVO: More Space, Less Noise, Clean Energy

Is it possible to have a high-performance drive that is completely invisible and silent? series Epropulsion Pod Drive EVO proves that it is. This is not an adaptation of an outboard engine - it's a unit designed from the ground up to be mounted below the waterline. As a result, all energy is transferred directly to the propulsion system, with no losses or vibrations. It's ideal for replacing an old inboard engine in a sailing yacht, or as the main drive in modern, minimalist vessels where every inch of space and absolute silence counts.

Data analyzed? It's time for Allwater.co.uk's expert verdict

The numbers don't lie - Pod Drive EVO is the essence of minimalism and performance. But what does this mean in practice? It's simple. If you're a sailor or appreciate clean hull lines and maximum cabin space, this is the solution for you. It is the ideal choice as:

  • A main or auxiliary drive for a sailing yacht that generates no resistance and charges the batteries itself.
  • Discrete engine for small displacement boats and tourist barges.
  • A modern replacement for the old, noisy and emergency diesel stationary engine.
  • Drive for custom projects where a traditional outboard motor won't work.

Technology that gives you the edge - 3 reasons to choose Pod Drive EVO

1. hydrodynamics and performance - Hidden Power

Mounting the engine under the hull completely eliminates the drag generated by the column of a traditional outboard engine. All power is transmitted directly to the propeller, and the streamlined shape of the craft minimizes water disturbance. The result? Higher efficiency, higher speed for the same power, and zero impact on the nautical properties of your boat while sailing.

2. hydrogeneration - your inexhaustible energy at sea

This is the feature for which sailors have come to love Epropulsion. Every Pod Drive EVO engine has an energy recovery feature as standard. When you're under sail, the free rotation of the propeller drives the engine, which acts as a generator and recharges your batteries. This is the way to true energy self-sufficiency on long voyages.

3 Reclaimed Space and Absolute Silence

Forget the noise and vibration in the cabin that a traditional inboard engine generates. The Pod Drive EVO is mounted externally, underwater, making its operation virtually inaudible on board. What's more, its compact size reclaims valuable space inside the boat that was occupied by the old, large internal combustion engine.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the main difference between Pod Drive 1.0, 3.0 and 6.0?

The main difference is power, which determines how heavy a boat they can propel. Pod 1.0 (3KM) is ideal for small sailboats up to 1.5 tons. Pod 3.0 (6 hp) Will work well in units up to 3 tons. Pod 6.0 (9.9 hp) is a powerful drive for yachts up to 4.5 tons.

Is the installation complicated?

Installation of the „under” motor requires drilling a hole in the hull and professional sealing, so we always recommend that an experienced boatbuilder or a certified service provider perform the installation. However, the electrical integration itself with the rest of the EVO system is very simple.

What control do I need for the Pod Drive EVO?

Pod Drive EVO motors are only compatible with Epropulsion remote control systems. You must purchase one of the kits separately: side handle (Side Mount), top-mount handle (Top Mount) or Dual Remote Handle To control two units.

Important note: The Pod Drive EVO is a stationary pod engine.
This is not a stand-alone „plug and play” product. To create a complete and safe drive system, you must purchase separately 4 key elements:

  1. Control System: The engine requires one of the EVO Remote Handles (side, top or double). Each kit with a maneuver already includes a central Communication Hub.
  2. Power System: At least one 48V battery (we recommend Epropulsion's dedicated E-series batteries) and a dedicated charger.
  3. Battery Output Cable: Required to physically connect the battery to the system (e.g., model EB-CP04-00).
  4. Safety Band (Ripple): A key element of security (model NE-SW00-00), which works with EVO's handgrips.

You will find all these necessary components in the tables below. Remember that the installation of the motor type „under” requires boatbuilding work. Contact us and we will help you configure the system.
